Spiritual Life

The Catholic school environment gives testimony to Catholic morals, values, and ethics in society and in the Church. All students participate in daily classroom prayers and religious education, weekly Mass and other devotional activities. The religion program strives to deepen love of God and neighbor in the individual. It is the reason for our existence as a parochial school. Regular religious activities and worship include:

  • A developmental study of religious truths and of Sacred Scripture
  • Participation in worship, including weekly Mass
  • Practices in Christ-like living and family life
  • Study of the Bible and other religious texts
  • Meditation and spiritual reading time

Daily Prayer

Each school day begins prayer offered by our Student Council. Teachers provide the opportunity throughout the school day for students to pray.  The Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be..., Act of Contrition, Memorare, and Rosary are taught.

Catholic Traditions

These traditions include weekly praying of the Rosary, during Lent classes take turns in presenting different ways of saying the Stations of the Cross. Spiritual retreats are given two times a year.

Community Service

The Corporal Works of Mercy is a school program that involves all students in regular service projects that provide valuable support to our community. All classes participate in monthly St. Vincent de Paul drives. Meals for Thanksgiving to the needy, diapers and other non-food items throughout the year, Mission Jar collections that support Orphans in Mexico, Aid to Women Center, St. Vincent de Paul and the Bishops Charity and Development Fund. School supplies for St. Peter’s Mission and a Penny drive to benefit Elizabeth House. There are also in-class service projects October Pumpkin Decorating Contest (Pumpkins donated to Phoenix Children’s Hospital), December Christmas Tree Decorating Contest (Christmas trees donated to VA Hospital)
