Food Handler's Card Required for Festival Food Booths

02-05-2019Festival 2019 News

According to the Maricopa County Environmental Health Code, Chapter VII, Reg. 1 (C), anyone who handles, prepares, serves, sells, or gives away food for consumption by persons other than his or her immediate family, or who handles food utensils and equipment must have a food handlers card. Food handler cards are valid for three (3) years.

Festival volunteers signing up for any food booth, including snow cone, cotton candy and popcorn, require a valid food handler’s card. Bake sale volunteers do not need a food handler’s card. If you have already completed the food handler training, you are covered. Please bring a copy of your food handlers card and give it to Ashley Hall when checking in for your scheduled shift.
