Dear OLMC Community,
I hope you are enjoying your long weekend! Thank you to all of the families who supported the Dads’ Club food fundraiser.
Learning Labs will begin on Tuesday. The Learning Labs were started to assist students who needed additional support. If your child is in grades 4-8th and needs additional academic assistance, he/she may ask or be invited by the classroom teacher to work after school on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:15 to 3:45.
This year the teachers will keep smaller Learning Lab groups to provide more focused individualized support. On Tuesday at the end of the day, children attending Learning Labs will proceed to room 5A to wait for it to begin. They may have a snack in the classroom before Learning Labs.
Please pick up your child at 3:45. You are to walk to the west door of McCready Hall and the teachers will be waiting with the students. If you are not there by 3:50 your child will be checking into Kids’ Club.
The Dads’ Club is hosting their Back to School BBQ on September 11th from 5 to 8pm. Bring the family for some great food, fun, and friends. If you are able to help volunteer at Dads' Club BBQ Help!
This school year we are beginning the School Accreditation process. Accreditation is a process to verify that schools are living up to their standards. Though it requires some work to complete, we are excited to show off what a beautiful community we have, filled with amazing teachers, students and supportive parents. We will be sending home short surveys to all of these stakeholding groups in the next several weeks. More communication will be coming home regularly about the process.
SET Training - We would love to have more volunteers at the school. If you have time during the day you would like to give, please let me know. You will need to have your Safe Environment Training completed. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
