Dear OLMC Community,

It is hard to believe we are embarking on May! This is an incredibly busy month so I have a lot to share.

School Advisory Board
We’ve had several wonderful candidates apply for the board. Please only vote once. The voting ends on May 6th at Noon.

May Crowning Mass
Mass has been moved to Friday at 11:15am this week. We will be celebrating our beautiful May Crowning Ceremony. It is absolutely one of my favorite Masses with the children. If you are able to attend, please do! The children will need to wear their Mass uniform on Friday (not on Wednesday).

Confirmation and First Communion
There is a mandatory meeting this Thursday at 7pm in the Church for the students receiving their First Communion and their sponsors. All students and sponsors must attend. If the Sponsor is unavailable, a parent must be there as this is when we get the seating arranged and go over specifics for Saturday. The class photo will be taken at 9:30. Please do not be late. The First Communion Mass on Saturday, May 7th will begin promptly at 10am. Father will come in for the photo and will leave promptly to be ready for Mass.

Reconciliation
The third graders (and any of the students receiving sacraments on May 7th) will participate in Reconciliation in the Church on Wednesday, May 4th. This is only provided for these students. Parents please help your child prepare by doing an Examination of Conscience prior to Wednesday.

Dads’ Club End of the Year BBQ
The OLMC Dad's Club will be sponsoring our annual End of Year Cookout on Saturday, May 7th in McCready Hall. Come celebrate the end of a great school year with your fellow OLMC school families. It would be great to see you there! They could use a few volunteers to help with setup, service, cleanup and grilling. Click here to sign up!

Service Project
We have partnered with Dsquared, a non-profit that makes blankets for the homeless using plastic grocery bags. It takes approximately 500 bags to make one blanket! Our plan is to have our students help to create a few blankets using a loom that is specially designed for this process. We are asking students to bring any extra plastic grocery bags you have at home! These may be dropped off in the school office.

Ukraine
We would like to show support for the people suffering in the Ukraine. The Polish American Congress is a nonprofit organization in Phoenix that is able to provide charitable letters for donations over $100.00. Please click the link to donate. Additionally, the Student Leadership Team is donating $550 that they raised from their school dance to this organization.

Rosary
Beginning on Monday the 5th graders will lead us in prayer as we pray a decade of the rosary each day before school in the Prayer Garden. Prayers will begin after the bell, at 8:05 in the Prayer Garden. You are all welcome to join us!
