OLMC Community,

What a beautiful weekend we had celebrating as a community! We had our May Crowning Mass on Friday. Caleb Donnellan and Grace Blackstad crowned Mary and they both gave beautiful reflections on the blessed Mother. The third graders and a few of the older students made their Confirmation and First Holy Communion this past Saturday. That evening the Dads’ Club hosted their end of the year BBQ! So joyous! They raised $20,000 to go towards resurfacing the basketball courts. Thank you for your generosity!

Looking towards next week:

Book Sale
The Daughters of St. Paul will be having a book sale on May 7th and 8th after mass and all day at school on the 9th and 10th. You can purchase well-written children’s books about the Catholic faith while also supporting their order. Many of the books are in the AR system such as the Encounter the Saints Series! Also, we will have a school "wish list" of books to replace or purchase those books that have been well-loved and read-often in our library.

Stars and Stripes Performance
The evening performance is on Wednesday at 7:00pm. The kindergarteners are going to rock this! They are adorable!

Our Lady of Fatima
Friday is the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima and it is also the last day for the 8th graders on campus. We will pray the rosary for the intentions of the 8th graders and their health and well being as they move into high school. Parents are welcome to attend. The Rosary will begin at 2:15pm. There will also be a procession of flowers done by the 3rd graders with their 8th grade buddies.

Learning Labs
This will be the last week for Learning Labs.

Service Project
We have partnered with Dsquared, a non-profit that makes blankets for the homeless using plastic grocery bags. It takes approximately 500 bags to make one blanket! Our plan is to have the students help to create a few blankets using a loom that is specially designed for this process. We are asking students to bring any extra plastic grocery bags you have at home! These may be dropped off in the school office.

Mother’s Day Tea
The first graders will have their Mother’s Day Tea on Wednesday at 1pm. They will also be attending Mass.

Fire Drill
We will have a fire drill on Thursday at 8:30am. Blase Blackstad is also the Principal of the Day!

Dinner Dance 8th Grade
This Friday is the 8th Grade Dinner Dance at the Embassy Suites. This is an event for the 8th graders and their parents only. Looking forward to celebrating the 8th grade!

Have a beautiful Mother’s Day!
