Dear OLMC Community,

Movie Night was a success, thank you Dads’ Club for another fun event!

ITBS Testing
This week the children will be taking the ITBS tests. These tests are helpful and give you (and us) another data point on where your child is academically. Please have your child/children get to bed early, eat breakfast and arrive on time to school! We will begin testing immediately after the announcements at 8:15am. If your child is late, he/she will not be allowed into the classroom until that assessment is complete and will have to make it up later. Make up tests will be next week and the children will have to miss class to take the tests they missed. It is very important to be on time! Also- please do not pull your children from class early for appointments.

Progress Reports
Progress Reports will be emailed home on Thursday, March 30th.

Learning Labs
There are no Learning Labs this week.

Friday
The 4th graders will lead the Stations of the Cross beginning at 10 am. All are welcome.

Lenten Project
We are still collecting for the children at E3 AFrica. Children may bring money into the classroom or you can donate online at E3 Africa Donation. The next big collection date is Wed, Apr 5. We are currently at about $150-$200 per grade and we are looking to raise $840 to sponsor a student for the year.

Book Sale Fundraiser
Sat, Apr 1, the Sterns are once again hosting a book sale to raise funds for the OLMC library. There are tons of great books for kids and grown ups! $1.00 for hardcovers and $0.50 for paperbacks. The sale starts at 7:00am.
Location: 1907 E. Julie Drive - in Tempe near Guadalupe and McClintock

Harkin’s Summer Movie Tickets
We are selling tickets for the summer movie club. It is a pretty sweet deal, 8 movies for $8. See the flier below for more information and how to sign up!

SCRIP
Have you made your minimum of $175? If you are unsure, contact Cindy at cindy@olmctempe.com. You have until Sun, Apr 30 to meet the minimum.

Holy Week:
Trek Through the Desert is on Wed, Apr 5 at 8:30am. All of the students, Kindergarten through 8th will dress as Israelites. We will reenact several parts of the Old Testament including the 1st graders who will part the Red Sea for Moses! I have attached some pictures of Treks in the past. Please do not purchase anything new for costumes- you may use an old pillowcase with the arms and head cut out and a kitchen towel to cover the head. The children need to wear their regular school gym shoes.

Wednesday concludes with the 8th graders performing the Living Stations in the Church at 11:15am. This is a beautiful display of the stations and often a favorite of students, teachers, and parents! Parents are welcome to both events!

There is no school Holy Thursday through Easter Monday. School resumes Tue, Apr 11.

Have a wonderful week!
Dr. Shewbridge
