Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions about the 2021 Science Fair. All students have access to the specific directions and expectations through their Google Classroom Science class.
Who may enter? It is mandatory for 7th and 8th grade students. Optional for any student in 4th, 5th or 6th grade
How do I enter? Fill out a Science Fair Topic Form and submit it to the Science Fair Coordinator, Mrs. Gjerstad, by Fri, Jan 29.
How do I submit my project? Considering this is a virtual science fair, all submissions must be in Google Slides and uploaded to Google Drive by midnight, March 2, 2021. Jr. High students are required to submit a paper and presentation to Google Drive by Midnight on Tue, Mar 2.
How will the judging take place? Judges will be given access to projects on Google Drive and will judge them accordingly. Judges will determine winners based on the presentation only in 4th, 5th and 6th and the presentation and paper for 7th and 8th. Judges are from the OLMC community as well as the Phoenix scientific and engineering community.
What are the prizes? Trophies, medals and ribbons will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place as well as honorable mentions in each category. Categories are: Life Science, Physical Science, Earth Science and Engineering.
