Our Lady of Mt. Carmel participates in a fundraising program that raises money for the school through the sale of gift cards. SCRIP stands for "Substitute Cash Redeem In Person”. OLMC uses SCRIP as a way to raise funds for field trips, cultural programs, technology improvements, and more.
School families are required to meet a $75 minimum profit per year in gift card/eSCRIP purchases. If you have a child at both the preschool and the elementary school, parents will only have to meet the elementary school minimum.
What is SCRIP?
SCRIP comes in the form of gift cards or eSCRIP that can be used for everyday purchases and as gifts for family and friends. OLMC families can purchase SCRIP for retailers, grocery stores, and restaurants at face value and the school earns a percentage of profit from each sale. There is no additional cost to you - the denomination you buy is what you will have to use. Family and friends can also purchase SCRIP and credit the profit to your school account!
