Dear OLMC Community,
Thank you to Home & School and all of the volunteers who made the Trunk or Treat such a great event! It is so nice to have these community events back at school. It was great to enjoy an afternoon in a safe environment sharing food and fellowship! I think the adults had just as much fun as the children!
Tomorrow we will have Mass for All Saints’ Day. Please have your student wear his/her Mass uniform. Many of the young men are forgetting their pants and belts on Mass days.
The first trimester will end this week. Report cards will be emailed home on Tuesday, November 10.

Thank you for your continued support for the Gala. The donations are so appreciated! We are still selling tickets to attend the event. Please purchase your tickets at Night to Soar Tickets.
Thank you to all who registered to decorate trunks and have donated candy. Unfortunately, at this time we have very few trunks. Your decorations do not have to be elaborate, just fun for the kids! Please consider decorating your trunk and if you have not donated your bag of candy, please do so!

We are still collecting items for the Night to Soar Gala. The homeroom parents communicated a wish list for items. If you are able to donate, please do. This is our largest fundraiser this year. Thank you for your support. Please do not forget to purchase your Night to Soar Gala tickets!

This past Friday the children brought home the Night to Soar Gala packet. This is the Third Annual Event. In the past the Parish Festival has been the largest fundraiser for the school but we have not had this event the past two years and will not have one this Spring. Therefore, this is what we are hosting to help raise funds to assist in keeping the tuition low and hopefully to raise funds to purchase additional shade that we need around campus. We are asking all the families to help by donating to the auction and hopefully attending as this is a great night! You may purchase tickets at Night to Soar OLMC 2021.

The first trimester progress reports will be emailed home on September 22nd. These are emailed after 3pm. You have the ability as parents to see your child’s grades at any time through FACTS. In the Orientation packet you received on August 5th or 6th, there were directions as to how to set this up. If you did not do so and need the directions, they are included in the newsletter. If you have any questions, please email your child’s teacher.

Thank you to so many families who came out to enjoy the Back to School Cookout the Dads’ Club organized! This was such a great evening of fellowship.
This week we began with the sports activities. It is so exciting to see so many children having fun playing and enjoying the games. Thank you to everyone who is volunteering to help whether it be to coaching, time keeping, refereeing, or something else, this would not be possible without your assistance! Please remind your children if they have an away game, they need to change quickly and get back into the pick up area. It will get easier as time passes!

Beginning next week the Library will be open from 7:55-8:10am before school for the children to check out books.
If you are sending your child to Kids’ Club after school, please do not pick up your child until after 3:15pm. It is very busy checking children in. If you are picking up before, please get into the pick up line.

It was wonderful to see all of the children at Meet the Teacher these past few days. I am looking forward to a great year. I have a few things I would like you to review prior to Tuesday morning.
Tuesday is a 12:30 dismissal. It is the first day of school therefore the parking lot will take longer to clear as everyone learns the routines. All of the children are learning the routine, especially the new little ones; therefore, please come packed with patience!

As we are moving closer to the commencement of school, we are continuing to monitor the data and follow recommendations from the Maricopa County Health Department. I am resharing the document pertaining to the safe re-opening of the school as we made some minor changes. Last year we worked tirelessly to follow guidelines and put together a plan which kept us in person from September to the end of the school year. Thankfully there was no transmission at the school. The safety of the school children is our top priority. Our plan will change in the future as we continue monitoring the data and meeting on a weekly basis to determine the safest way to keep the children in person while maintaining a healthy environment.
